Today’s Scripture: Nehemiah 9:20, NKJV- “You also gave Your good Spirit to instruct them, And did not withhold Your manna from their mouth, And gave them water for their thirst.”
I am thankful God is still in the giving business. Thank You God for sending Your good Spirit to me. In my darkness and wilderness I struggle to find You, at times, but You provide Your Spirit to me. These people of Nehemiah’s day were remembering how God provided to His children in the wilderness.
Our wilderness is different today but our need for remembering it is God who provides is not. It is God who provides us with His good Spirit. It is God who continues to provide our manna and water today. We may take credit or build idols but it is God in His great compassion Who provides still today.
These are not old bible stories to simply recall a long ago miracle that was unique to those people these are stories to remind us of our source of life today.
Are you thankful for the Spirit, food, and water God is giving you today?
Today’s Prayer: Thank You God for sending Your Spirit to me. Thank You for not abandoning me and for continuing to provide for me all of my spiritual and physical needs. You are the Jehovah-Jireh, the God who provides today as well as long ago. I am thankful, I am aware, and I am on high alert to receive Your provision today. Please feed me and show me Your gifts and Your desired direction for me today. Thank You Father God for continuing to give. Amen
