Today’s Scripture: 1 Corinthians 1:27, NKJV- “But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty;”
Do you recall Sosthenes in the bible? Paul mentions him in 1 Corinthians 1:1. I cannot tell you how many times I have read this verse, yet do not recall ever hearing of him. Thankfully, God uses nobodies and deplorables in the eyes of the world.
Throughout scriptures, God has made it obvious it was Him and not humans who bring the true value to life. The ruling class, those accepted as wise or brilliant, end up proving powerless and evil. God uses the humbled to bring others to Christ.
1 Corinthians 1:29 says it is so no one can boast. Even in our own minds we know it is not our wisdom or strength that brings our greatest results. At the end of the day, God’s love and works shame the views and actions of humankind and present Christ crucified as the answer.
Be thankful, and humbled, to know God reveals His wisdom and His power in our foolishness and our weaknesses so the Wisdom of Jesus Christ shines through.
Today’s Prayers: Heavenly Father, thank You for proving Yourself. I am praising You for Your wisdom and power. Thank You for my foolishness and weakness that makes me need and know You. Thank You for removing all doubt that my intelligence or my strength can produce what Your Wisdom and power in me can produce among Your children. Our confidence and our hope are in You LORD and the Wisdom of Jesus Christ. Amen.
