Today’s Scripture: Ephesians 1:3, KJB- “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:”
Paul reminds us in Ephesians One that we need to change our perspective. Right now, we can stop and be reminded that God has blessed us with every Spiritual blessing of the heavens. Ephesians 1:4 states that we were chosen before the creation of this world in love.
Ephesians 1:5 takes it up a notch and says we are predestined to be adopted as God’s children through Jesus Christ. Well, that is much more than a notch, isn’t it? What a swing from feeling trapped in the mundane and short-sighted attractions of the flesh to be opened spiritually to be free to roam the heavenly places as the adopted children of God.
We were made by and for God, so we were made for so much more than the mundane. These are spiritual blessings that we cannot grasp with our minds. It is sad when we allow our minds and feelings to blind us. Just stop and welcome God’s Spiritual realm now. We can pause and praise God for who He is and thank Him for the gift, grace, and love of Jesus Christ.
We were created to live in the riches of God’s grace through the blood of Jesus Christ. This is God’s plan for us. We must physically, mentally, and spiritually turn away from the one who attempts to rob us from God’s plan. It is through God’s Holy Spirit that we experience His mysteries and pleasures. Through Christ we can experience heaven today.
Through Jesus Christ we have already received our inheritance as God’s children to receive the counsel of His will as stated in Ephesians 1:11. When we choose to believe in Jesus Christ, we receive the Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God gives us thanksgivings in our hearts that are heavenly in scope. God gives us the spirit of wisdom and revelation.
I love Ephesians 1:18 as this assures us that God opens the eyes of our hearts and understanding to know His hope and the riches of His glory. This is so far beyond the flesh and this world that can limit our view. When we stop and look to the heavenly realms with our hearts and souls, we can see God’s abundance.
Ephesians 1:19 promises we have God’s “exceeding greatness.” This sounds so superfluous and we cannot imagine in our minds this power. We cannot imagine it, but we can experience it when the eyes of our hearts are turned and lifted to heaven. If we believe in God’s promises and in His Son, we can experience His mighty power now.
Will you pause now and ask God to open the eyes of your heart?
Today’s Prayer: Our Almighty Father in heaven, thank You for loving us and adopting us as Your children. LORD, please open the eyes of our hearts to look to You and Your Son Jesus Christ. Your Holy Spirit is our vision, hope, and guarantee. Help us LORD to look and live in Your heavenly realms. Thank You for Your inheritance, Father God. We are praising You for Your riches and glory. Help us to live today in communion with You so we live fully the lives and love You have predestined for us. In the name of Jesus Christ, we do pray. Amen.
