Today’s Scripture: For forty years I loathed that generation and said, “They are a people who go astray in their heart, and they have not known my ways.” Psalm 95:10 ESV
Over an hour, I pressed snooze; I had to stay. After arising and going to my knees I found it difficult to stay with God there too. I had to stay in “that” place.
The word “stay” brought me to this affirmation from Psalm 95:10. These people of David’s generation erred in their ways by going astray in their hearts. I want my heart, my soul and my mind to stay with God, don’t you?
Many of us have gotten our hearts broken by giving them to other things. All of us have been burned by giving our hearts to other people, promises, hopes, desires, dreams and any other trails our hearts may go.
Psalm 95 also states we are God’s people; His flock, ALREADY in His pasture. “Come” this chapter begins. Come; let us sing to the LORD. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving.
We are in His presence, may our hearts stay there.
Today’s Prayer: Father God, I come before You with thanksgiving. I am thankful that You have welcomed me into Your pasture. LORD forgive me for allowing my heart to go astray. I love coming into Your presence and I want and pray to stay there. Help me resist those things that lead my heart astray. Amen
