Today’s Scripture: 1 Samuel 2:1, NKJV- “And Hannah prayed and said: “My heart rejoices in the LORD; My horn is exalted in the LORD. I smile at my enemies, because I rejoice in Your salvation.”
Does your heart rejoice in the LORD? In just a few verses, Hannah went from pouring out her heart in prayer so fervently that Eli thought she was drunk, to her heart rejoicing.
God did answer Hannah’s prayer for a son. She was tormented for years but when God remembered her, she remembered Him with rejoicing. Many of us have experienced things that only God could have fixed. There are some things that only God knows.
1 Samuel 2:4 NIV states that “those who stumbled are armed with strength.” In our hardships we become equipped. The Serenity Prayer mentions that we “accept hardship as a pathway to peace.” So, when we are in the midst of our brokenness and hardships, we must continue pray hard. Some people will think we are out of our minds too.
Whether our prayers are answered or not, we can rejoice in the LORD.
Today’s Prayer: Father God, I am pouring out my heart in prayer to You now. Hear my cries and pleas O LORD. LORD please be with those who are broken and broken hearted. Please turn our prayers in to rejoicing. Grant us all peace and strength from our hardships and brokenness. Make us strong in You LORD. May we rejoice so others come to know Your strength and Your salvation. Amen.
