Today’s Scripture: Ezekiel 11:21 ESV: But as for those whose heart goes after their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their deeds upon their own heads, declares the Lord GOD.”
God promised the Israelites a new land, undivided hearts and a new spirit. Ezekiel was providing this message from God to His people. He said these people were given one heart and given it so they may walk in His statutes and keep His rules and obey them. And they shall be His people, and He will be their God.
Our verse for today states: But as for those whose heart goes after their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their deeds upon their own heads, declares the Lord GOD.”
Apparently we have a choice as to what our hearts go after. I have proven over and over that I need the same Spirit who lifted Ezekiel in this passage to lift me. My heart is flesh and thankfully not stone. However I need the Holy Spirit to direct my heart after God and not flesh.
Today, will we choose to go after God or detestable abominations?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for giving us an undivided heart and a new spirit. LORD help me to live in Your heart and never attempt to divide it. Help me to live in and from the new spirit You gave me. LORD, I need Your Spirit to guard my heart and protect me. Draw my heart to you and away from detestable abominations. Amen
