Today’s Scripture: Luke 11:1, KJV- “And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.”
When I had ceased praying today, I knew the Holy Spirit was guiding me to go and read the biblical accounts where the disciples had asked Jesus to teach them to pray.
Lord, teach us to pray. In Luke 11:1 we are told Jesus was at a “certain” place. In Matthew 6: 4-6 we are told to give in secret and to go into our room. We can go to our certain place and keep this between only ourselves and the Father.
In Luke 11:2 and Matthew 6 Jesus said, “when you pray”. Do you know where and when You are going to pray day by day? Our Father, who is in our secret places, sees us and rewards us openly. He may reward us with specific scriptures or opportunities to serve and glorify Him.
Will you go to your certain and secret place day after day to pray as the Lord teaches you?
Today’s Prayer: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.
