Today’s Scripture: Ezekiel 18:4, KJB- “Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.”
Ezekiel begins chapter 18 with these words “The word of the LORD came unto me again, saying,”. When the word of the LORD comes to you where does it speak? Have you ever had the word of the LORD speak to you? I hear God the best in this soul that is His.
Ezekiel was passing along this message that each of us belongs to the LORD and none of us are paying for the sins of anyone else. We each belong to the LORD and are responsible to Him. This is a very personal thing.
We are not convicted nor freed by the actions of others but how we operate from our own souls. When we live rightly and love the LORD we live fully. We can live righteously when our souls are free to live right.
I am thankful that Ezekiel 18:21 states ““But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die.” (NKJV) We each have a chance to correct course and re-direct our souls towards God.
We can trust that the ways of our LORD are just. We do know in our souls what is right, and we can live that way. God will judge each of us according to our own ways as promised in Ezekiel 18:30. We can choose our way to walk with the covenants of God.
Ezekiel 18:31 encourages us to get a new heart and spirit. Fortunately, we can get this any time from our LORD as our souls, hearts, and spirits are already His. We just need to turn back to Him and give him our all to Him. We can make this decision right now, regardless of who we were a minute ago.
I am thankful that it is God’s desire that we all turn to Him and live. The world offers false and shallow living while God is offering us to surely live. In Ezekiel 18:32 the LORD says turn back to me and live!
- Do you live as if your soul is yours or God’s?
- Do you ever feel you need to turn and receive God’s new heart and spirit?
- Are you thankful that the LORD desires that we turn to Him and live with Him with all our souls?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me and for being a just God. Thank You for this soul You have placed in me. I confess I do turn away at times, but I am praising and thanking You now that You welcome me back with love and promise. My soul is Yours Father God. I desire to live as You desire for me to live. I am praying to live and help others in their times of need. I pray to make the turning back to You easy and promising based on Your Word. I love Your LORD and I am praying to live the fullness of Your soul. Amen.
