Today’s Scripture: 1 Kings 19:12, KJV- “And after the earthquake a fire; but the LORD was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice.”
The LORD teaches us to hear him in the storms of life. In 1 Kings 19 God gives us insight and instruction in how to listen for Him. Elijah was afraid and running for his life. He had had enough and even asked God to end his life.
The word of the LORD came to Elijah when he was desperate. The LORD taught Elijah to listen. He showed Him that there are mighty winds and earthquakes we face in our lives, yet the LORD is not in them. We hear the still small voice after the fires of life.
Specific instructions come from the word of the LORD. The challenge for us is to be still in the winds, earthquakes, and fires of life. As as we are still and listen and receive His Word we find His direction.

Today’s Prayer: LORD, teach me to hear Your voice and Your word. I am here listening LORD. Help me to discern the voices and noise of life that are not of You. Give me clear guidance LORD. Send me to those who can help me fulfill Your plan. In You and Your voice do I trust and seek. Amen.
