Today’s Scripture: Luke 2:34 Tyndale Chronological NLT Then Simeon blessed them, and he said to Mary, “This child will be rejected by many in Israel, and it will be their undoing. But he will be the greatest joy to many others.
Jesus is alive and He is my greatest joy. In the second chapter of Luke, when Jesus was only eight days old, Simeon told Mary and Joseph that their son would be a joy to many others. He also warned them that many would be opposed. Here we are today experiencing what this old man, filled with the Holy Spirit, knew over two thousand years ago.
Simeon knew Jesus would be our greatest joy. A joy equaled by nothing and no one. Anna came along as Simeon was speaking these words and began praising God. We are told she talked about the child to everyone who had been expectantly waiting for God’s recue.
Shouldn’t we do the same? If Jesus has been your greatest joy will you talk about Him with everyone who has been waiting expectantly for rescue and joy?
We can bring the joy of Jesus to many others.
Today’s Prayer: Jesus You are the source of true joy. Thank You for giving me the greatest joy. I praise and worship You Father and I thank You for Your Holy Spirit and for the life of Jesus. As Jesus increased in stature and in wisdom I ask You Father to increase me. Please bring blessings and great joy to many others through my sharing joyously. Amen
