Today’s Scripture: but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.” Luke 22:32 ESV
Can you imagine the prayers of Jesus? Can you imagine Him praying specifically for you? A praying Jesus draws us into a deeper heart of prayer.
I often wonder as I make the short walk to my prayer closet how Jesus prepared His heart to pray on those early morning walks to pray. He is in the Father, the Father is in Him; He is God and yet He prayed. Here in Luke’s version of the pre-crucifixion story Jesus says He had prayed for Simon and the others for their faith and strength.
Lord Jesus, draw me into Your prayers so I may know the depth, the width and the Spirit of Your prayers. Help me to know the power You know in prayer.
Jesus came to live and die for us. Armed with grace and the power found in His life and His prayers we come to know His strength.
Today’s Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for teaching us to pray. Please reveal Your prayers to us. Pray too for me that my faith will grow and I will be strengthened by Your prayers and I in turn can strengthen others. Thank You for showing us the way. I pray to stay in Your way. Amen
