Today’s Scripture: 2 James 1:2, NIV- “because of the truth, which lives in us and will be with us forever:”
Regardless of what is living around us, the truth and love of God will be in us forever. 2 James 1:3 (NIV) states: “Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father’s Son, will be with us in truth and love.”
John says this truth is love. Each person must choose what they believe is the truth. As for me, I have chosen to believe the Gospel in which John is speaking of here. The new gospel of Jesus and the love of Jesus. In 2 John 1:5, John is reminding us that from the beginning the truth of Jesus was for us to love one another.
We are called to walk in love. This is, many times, contrary to our natural feelings. We can choose the love and commands of Jesus. We must abide in the teachings of Christ as we are instructed in 2 John 1:9.
John warns us of the deceivers in this world and for us not to let them into our homes. There is evil in this world we must not entertain. We can only find true joy from those things that come from God the Father and from Jesus Christ.
- Do you find peace in knowing you have something you can never ever lose?
- Do you reflect God’s love and laws?
- Will You ask Jesus to help you walk in His love today?
The world would be a different place if we walked in the love of the new gospel. Today we can choose to walk in it.
Today’s prayer: Father God, I am thankful for the love and teachings of Your Son Jesus Christ. I am welcoming His teachings and love to live in me forever. I am praying to live and walk in Your love LORD despite my feelings and fears. I am bold and confident when I trust that your love and Your plans endure forever. Help me to endure and to keep evil far from me and my children. Thank You for living in us forever and planting Your joy in us. Amen.
