Today’s Scripture: 2 Kings 19:14, NIV- “Hezekiah received the letter from the messengers and read it. Then he went up to the temple of the LORD and spread it out before the LORD.”
When we receive unwelcome news, what do we do with it? When faced with dilemmas or challenges do, we take them to the LORD? Hezekiah had just gotten a letter that all the surrounding kings had already lost their kingdoms and their gods to the Assyrians.
Immediately upon receiving the letters with the scary news, Hezekiah went to the LORD and spread the unwelcome news before Him. We can spread out our bad news, challenges, and problems today before the LORD too. Doesn’t that feel so great to know we can let them go, lay them out and know that God will do His will?
We are surrounded by evil rulers and powerful kingdoms at times. Like Hezekiah, pray and trust God to deliver us from these evil trespassers, so that all the kingdoms of the earth will know that God alone is LORD.
Will you spread out any challenges you have today before the LORD?
Today’s Prayer: LORD, God of Israel, enthroned with the angels in heaven, you alone are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You are the creator of heaven and earth. Hear my prayers and see these problems and challenges I am laying before You. I trust You LORD over these circumstances. I am placing my trust and hope in You. Now, LORD our God, deliver us, so that all the kingdoms of the earth may know that you alone are the LORD, our God. Amen
