Today’s Scripture: Psalm 78:11, NLT-“They forgot what he had done— the great wonders he had shown them,”
The premise and theory of Affirmations of God is to take the Word of God and state it in personal and present terms. Our minds know we are not this person yet but it is proven if we speak who we are to be we will become that person, or at least be heading closer.
Many times I tell others I am claiming who God calls us to be and sometimes I claim to be the opposite of what makes God angry. Psalm 78 is a great chapter about how God was angry with His people and he told us what they were not doing. To affirm the positive I am claiming to be the opposite of who these people of God were.
For example, Psalm 17:22, NKJV- states “Because they did not believe in God, and did not trust in His salvation.” So my affirmation to become who God does want me to be I am claiming “I am believing in You God and trusting in Your salvation.”
Reading these verses of the actions of the people in that day we can see why our world is in a mess today. May we turn around and do the opposite of our current actions so we are in the center of God’s will.
Today’s Prayer: Father God, God of Israel, thank You for what You have done for all of us and the great wonders You have shown us. You are the same God who parted the sea and guided us by cloud and fire. You made water flow from rocks and You still make our way today. Help us to remember You and to know and trust You are the God of our salvation. It is in You I place my trust today. As You saved Your people of old, You are saving me. Help me to remind my children and the next generation to trust in You. Amen
