Today’s Scripture: Psalm 146:1, KJV- “Praise ye the LORD. Praise the LORD, O my soul.”
In the ten verses of Psalm 146 David makes sure we are not just giving lip service to our praises. He also removes all doubt as to who our LORD is. In Psalm 146:5-6 it is clarified that the LORD is the God of Jacob and the Creator of heaven and earth, the sea and everything in them.
From the depths of the oceans and the depths of our souls our praises are forever. Just as the God of Jacob is forever, so are to be our praises of our God. Our Father who art in heaven we are praising You from the depths of our souls forever. We are singing praises to You LORD as long as we live. Psalm 146:3 reminds us to not put our trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save us.
We must dig deeper than human flesh, including our own. Deep within our flesh lies our souls that are connected to the Almighty Creator and are tied to Him forever. From this place we love and praise our God. Much of the world around us is just noise that we must silence as much and as often as we can. Seeking to be alone with God, we welcome Him into our souls.
The noise and plans of the flesh do come to an end as stated in Psalm 146:4, but the love and praise of our souls live forever connected to our creator. We are blessed when we keep our hopes in our God and not in our plans. We can trust God with our plans and our souls. LORD, You are my soul and I thank You for remaining faithful forever.
Thank You LORD for providing for us and for setting us free from those things that imprison us. As Psalm 146:8 reminds, You LORD open our eyes, raise us from our knees, and love us. I am thanking You LORD from the depths of my soul for watching over us. My soul is praising You forever.
Can you feel the praises of your soul?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, Creator God, God of Jacob, fill my soul with Your praises forever. I am praising You and loving You from the depths of my soul always. My eternal hope and trust are in You and not in me or any flesh. Thank You Father God for watching over us, providing for us, and drawing our souls to You forever. Forever You are my LORD and forever my soul is praising You. Amen.
