Today’s Scripture: Acts 9:31, NIV- “Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.”
In today’s culture wars we can forget that we, relatively speaking, are living in a time of peace in the church. Persecution has been worse and will be worse. After Saul’s conversion, there were people trying to kill him. No one reading this message is in fear of death for living for Jesus.
Some people in the world are dying for their faith in Jesus and we must decide how we will live. Living in the fear of the Lord instead of the threats of man we will be encouraged by the Holy Spirit to help others believe in our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.
We are each an instrument of God to proclaim in our own little ways in our own little circles to proclaim the name of the Lord. As we live in awe and love for Jesus the Holy Spirit will continue to encourage and comfort us to offer the love of Christ over the evil of man.
Will you live today with the Lord and His Holy Spirit?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, I am praising Your name and living in fear of You Lord and I am thanking You for Your Holy Spirit who encourages me and comforts me. Father God, as I kneel and pray to You in private, I am praying for Your boldness to speak specifically to what You want to happen. Open my spirit, my mind, and my ways to Your desires and Your power so others too may know Jesus and His ways. Amen
