Today’s Scripture: Matthew 6:22, NIV- “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.”
Regardless of where I am and what is going on, the connection with God’s light is my healthiest spot. In God’s light I find peace, comfort, confidence, and resolve.
When I look to God’s light in my prayers my spirit connects with His Spirit. When I need to calm my spirit, I receive comfort by looking to and trusting God’s light. Here in Matthew 6:22, the King James Bible it states, “if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.”
I do find that when my eye is singularly focused on the light of God my whole body is full of light. But when I look away, my natural self or this evil world can fill me with darkness. Darkness can come in many forms, but I find the amazing and all-powerful light of God can only be found in one place.
Do you see the light of God?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, I am praying to stay in Your light where I am healthy. Teach me LORD to live in your light with out ceasing. Please keep my eyes pure and focused on You LORD. Forgive me for when I look away. Regardless of where I look, I am praying to keep my eyes on You and to be filled with Your light. In Your light and in the power of Jesus Christ I do pray. Amen.
