Today’s Scripture: Job 23:11 NKJV: My foot has held fast to His steps; I have kept His way and not turned aside
Can you always trust your feelings?
In the previous verses Job admits he was bitter. He admits he didn’t know where to find God. He looked everywhere and just could not see God. Have you been in this place where Job was?
Job ain’t feeling it folks. It is astounding in Job 23:11 that he boldly states “my foot has held fast to His steps: I have kept His way and not turned aside.” Amazingly in verse 12 Job even states that he still treasures the words of God’s mouth more than his necessary food. Wow, a deeper “feeling” than hunger.
We can learn a lot from Job! Regardless of what we are feeling, regardless of what we can see, we can hold fast to the steps of God and trust the words of God over any other feelings.
Regardless of what we feel or see, will we hold fast to God and walk in His steps?
Today’s Prayer: Almighty God, I am holding fast to Your steps. Regardless of what my flesh feels or cannot feel I am trusting You and hanging onto the treasures of Your words. Your promises to me overwhelm any and all feelings I have. Help me LORD to hold fast to You even when my flesh is weak. Amen
