Today’s Scripture: John 16:28, ESV- “I came from the Father and have come into the world, and now I am leaving the world and going to the Father.””
Many times, I pray to experience being with God as Jesus was. I pray to feel the temperatures and hear the environment that Jesus must have felt and heard on those early mornings when He went off to be with the Father. I ask the Holy Spirit to remind me and enlighten me to pray as Jesus did.
I imagine those early morning prayers were Jesus being with His Father now. In John 16:28 Jesus was preparing his disciples that the day was approaching where He would leave this world and go back to the Father.
I want to go where God is too. I am asking to be with God as Jesus was with God and I find that my joy is complete just as Jesus promised in John 16:28. Just eight verses earlier Jesus was telling the disciples that He would turn their grief of going to be with God to joy.
Do you find joy in being where God is?
Today’s Prayer: I love You Jesus and I believe that You came from God in the flesh and after three days in the grave You returned to Him. I am thankful that God the Father promised to love me because I love You. I do. Help me Holy Spirit to know fully this love. Help me to go to be where God is in my prayers and in my living. Thank You LORD for turning our grief into Joy. I find complete joy when I am with You Father. Amen.
