Today’s Scripture: Psalm 37:4, KJB- “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”
I almost can’t believe that in the past twelve years I haven’t written on this verse again. This was the basis of my first blog on April 7, 2010. The way I feel today is I have spent the past twelve years doing exactly what this verse called me to do.
I have been delighting myself in the LORD and He does give me the desires of my heart. Day after day, week after week, and year after year, I have only grown to delight myself in the LORD more. I have experienced God so thoroughly; I want to spend the rest of my life assuring others that delight is real and available.
David begins this Psalm warning against comparison, so I am not trying to get people to follow my way. My way can look like a mess of un-blessings if compared to others but I do want to show how God has provided a way with a combination of prayer and bible reading that does reveal the delights and desires of every heart.
As we trust in the LORD and just do the next right thing, we end up in the right place. Are you seeking God for your delights and desires?
Today’s prayer: Thank You LORD for revealing my delights and my desires through Your Word and through Your Holy Spirit. I am thankful LORD that as we delight ourselves in You and trust in You, we end up in the middle of Your desires for us and the greatest desires of our hearts. Thank You LORD for inviting me to live in Your land and to feed on Your faithfulness. I am committing my way to You LORD and trusting to live in Your desires. Amen.
