Today’s Scripture: Hebrews 10:14, NIV- “For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.”
The sacrifice of Jesus Christ made us perfect at that moment and forever. However, the Spirit reveals that we are being made holy. The church word is sanctified. I cannot seem to remember what sanctified means when I hear it.
However, I know I am not holy, and my spirit is encouraged to know that I am being made holy. I am unsettled and incomplete. Although Jesus died for my perfection in the eyes of God, I am still a work in progress to become holy or sanctified.
Two other Principle 7B verses Psalm 1:1-2 and 1 Peter 1:13-14 from Celebrate Recovery Principle 7 and Step 11, remind me I have a choice in who I follow and what I choose to do daily. By following the godly who are seeking holiness and meditating on God’s laws day and night I am in the process of being sanctified or being made holy.
Who will you follow and where will you seek holiness today?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your law. Please help me meditate on Your laws day and night. Thank You LORD for chiseling off my rough edges’ day by day. I thank You Father for the sacrifice of Your Son Jesus Christ which has made me perfect. Correct me and teach me with Your law daily so that I may become more holy and like Jesus day after day. Thank You LORD for Your love and patience with me. Teach me LORD. Amen.
