Today’s Scripture: Titus 3:8, NKJV- “This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.”
I came to affirmations initially in my life via secular desires for a better life. I experienced the testimony that what we affirm we do receive. However, through this affirmatic study of scripture that God has granted to me, Paul taught me in Titus 3:8 what it was that God wanted me to affirm.
Instead of material blessings, God has a greater intention for affirmations. Although any affirmation will bring change and those things we desire, Paul instructs us here in Titus 3:8 to affirm constantly that we are justified by grace and that we have the hope of eternal life.
We must constantly remind ourselves that we have been saved and justified by grace and that we have the hope of eternal life. Instead of speaking stuff into our lives we speak God’s truth and character traits.
Because of God’s grace and promise of eternal life we can affirm to do good. Because we affirm this constantly, we will reproduce the goodness of God and do good things for all of humankind. Because of God’s generosity to us we can be generous with goodness.
We are changed through affirmation. The world is changed when we affirm constantly the goodness of God. We become God’s goodness that offers hope to all others. I have found the Word of God is full of countless characteristics we can affirm to become who God intends for us to be.
Will you affirm God’s goodness, so you become His goodness?
Today’s Prayer: Thank You God for being so generous to me. Thank You for the grace of Jesus Christ. Thank You for pouring out the Holy Spirit so generously on us. I am affirming constantly that You have justified me by grace and I have the hope of eternal life because of You alone. Change me LORD. Use me LORD to bring good and profitable things to all others. Amen
