Today’s Scripture: Isaiah 6:8, KJB- “Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.”
Isaiah was seeing a grand vision of the Lord, high and lifted up in Isaiah 6:1. The train of His robe filled the whole temple. There were angels flying around with six wings! The angels were crying out “Holy, Holy, Holy, is the LORD of hosts, The whole earth is full of His glory” so loudly that their cries shaking the temple.
I think it would be easy to get caught up in that moment to answer God’s calling and Isaiah did. The rest of the chapter and the rest of our lives, many times, does not make sense.
God tells him in Isaiah 6:9 to go and tell the people:
“And He said, “Go, and tell this people: ‘Keep on hearing, but do not understand; Keep on seeing, but do not perceive.”
Huh?! That should go over well. But I think I could tell that story. I do not understand Lord, I can not see. But I am willing. I don’t even understand the remainder of Isaiah 6; does that matter? Do I have to understand to be willing to go?
We must only be willing to go and do what God instructs us to do. God places those in our paths and care and He gives us the words to give to them.
- Are you willing to go?
- Do we have to fully understand where God is sending us?
- God is revealing the message we are to deliver, are we listening?
Today’s Prayer: Father God of heaven, I am praising Your name and your power. Thank You for your angels who guide and protect us. Thank You for cleansing me of my sins so I can serve You. I am willing to go and do whatever You desire LORD. Here am I; send me. Amen.
