Today’s Scripture: Proverbs 23:7 ESV: for he is like one who is inwardly calculating. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, but his heart is not with you.
Whose heart is really with you? We are encouraged in Proverbs 23 to observe carefully. This requires careful observance of the words and the will of God.
I can trust God alone. I know I cannot trust me and I know most other hearts are not really with me. But, I can trust that God’s heart is with me and will always be with me.
We witness everywhere today civil disobedience and protests to try to win hearts. In reality those hearts are nowhere near me. As this proverb warns they are most certainly inwardly calculating. A world that promises to provide and encourages you to follow their ways is deceiving.
As stated in Proverbs 23:23 keeping my heart with God requires buying His truth, His wisdom, His instruction and His understanding and not selling out to those whose hearts are not really with me.
Who are you trusting with your heart?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for giving me Your heart. Thank You for your timeless Word that provides Your truths. Forgive me LORD for when I give my heart to others. I have experienced those results and Father I only desire Your delicacies. Help me to keep Your wisdom, instruction and understanding in my heart. Amen
