Today’s Scripture: 2 Corinthians 13:9, KJB- “For we are glad, when we are weak, and ye are strong: and this also we wish, even your perfection.”
Paul teaches us in 2 Corinthians to embrace our feelings of weakness to realize we find God and His power in these moments. He teaches us that in our weaknesses we are being perfected.
In 2 Corinthians 12:9, Paul tells us that the Lord told him that the power of Christ is made perfect in weakness. Therefore, Paul said he would boast in his weaknesses, and we can too. We can trust that our weakest areas are where we need Christ most and it is there that He reveals His power to us and others.
Through prayer, humility, and honesty we learn, as 2 Corinthians 12:10 states, when we are weak then we are strong. We should not be ashamed; we should be assured that Jesus is going to reveal Himself in our weaknesses. I am praying now to rely on the power of Christ and not another failed attempt at my strength. However, when I share of the power of Christ, I am strengthened, and I have a greater desire to pass this strength on to others.
Paul tells us to test ourselves in 2 Corinthians 13:5. Life has a way of evaluating us every day. We can accept that Christ is inside of us and go to Him for strength. We can trust we can come to know Christ’s power that is inside of us.
Christ lives by God’s power, shouldn’t we?
Today’s prayer: Lord, I am seeking Your power and perfection to be revealed in my weaknesses. I am asking for Your power and for Your Spirit to guide me. I confess that I am weak and need Your power. I believe Lord that Your grace is sufficient for me and that Your power is made perfect in my weakness. Lord, I am weak and welcoming Your power. Father God, I pray to do nothing wrong so that I will past all tests. I am praying to only live for Your truth. Thank You, God of love and peace, for being with me. Amen.
