Today’s Scripture: Matthew 16:23, NLT- “Jesus turned to Peter and said, “Get away from me, Satan! You are a dangerous trap to me. You are seeing things merely from a human point of view, not from God’s.””
When we kneel before God and ask for His kingdom to come and His will be done, we must let go of our own will and worries. We humans get concerned with too many traps. We get trapped by feelings, our defense or offense of our point of view, worries, and concerns of life.
This morning knelt before God I felt the power and relief of surrender. Welcoming God’s kingdom and will in our Lord Jesus’ prayer, I realized I needed to let go of my human concerns to fully receive Him. I had to let go of things that stress, anger, or weigh me down.God, I am letting go of my human concerns to accept Your will.
I can surrender all and stand willing to accept God’s will. I am doing what Jesus stated in the next verse in Matthew 16:24, I am choosing to deny myself and pick up my cross and follow Him.
Who are you following today?
Today’s Prayer: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. LORD, I am letting go of my human concerns and welcoming Your kingdom and Your will. I am denying my will now and letting go of my feelings to trust You Father God. I am denying myself now to pick up the cross You have given me to follow Jesus. Thank You Father God. Amen.
