Today’s Scripture: Psalm 139:7, NKJV- “Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?”
When life gets uncomfortable or even unbearable sometimes, we want to flee, don’t we? Sometimes we want to run and hide from the rat race and pains of life. Whatever our emotions are screaming we can pause and be reminded we are in the presence of God.
Why God am I here, now? Why God, am I experiencing this moment? LORD, please help me flee this pain and discomfort. Whether our personal tendencies are to flee or stand and fight, the power and presence of the LORD is with us.
Psalm 139 may be one of the most mind-blowing chapters in the bible for me. Just one chapter out of 1,189 chapters in the bible. As David states in Psalm 139:6, NKJV- “Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; It is high, I cannot attain it.” I do not get it, but I am thankful to receive it.
No matter where we are, right this moment, God’s hand is guiding us and holding us. Whether we are experiencing the heights of heaven or the lows of hell, our God is with us. Many times, we wonder why we are here or why God would allow this to happen. God, why did you weave me together in my mother’s womb as stated in Psalm 139:13 only to be where I am now.
We must stop and remind ourselves that Psalm 139:14 is true. We are wonderfully and fearfully made masterpieces of God. These moments and places are just a part of our making. We are shaped and chiseled by experiences and relationships by the presence of God.
Psalm 139:16 states that ALL the days of our lives were fashioned for us before we even lived one day. This is indeed too wonderful for me to understand. Just because I cannot understand it does not make it untrue. Just as David cried out to God, I cry the words of Psalm 139:23; “Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties;” (NKJV).
Lead me, O God, in Your ways and with Your presence.
Will you look to God and trust that He has created you and every day of your life and trust Him with where you are now?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, Your ways are too wonderful for me to understand. I do thank You for creating me. I ask for Your Spirit to remind me to trust Your ways. Your ways are not my ways. You created each one of us LORD and I pray we turn to You and live the life You intended and created us for. We are all wonderfully and fearfully made. Our hope and our trust are in You. Use us LORD for Your glory and purposes. You are too wonderful LORD for me to comprehend but I am thankful I can experience You wherever I am. Amen.
