Today’s Scripture: John 16:28, NIV- “I came from the Father and entered the world; now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.””
I felt the need to revisit John 16:28 today after looking into the face of Jesus this morning. That sounds super spiritual but the Prince of Peace painting by Akiane Kramarik (look her up if you haven’t read her story) is my screen saver on my phone.
I peered into the serious eyes of Jesus and sensed the seriousness of our faith. Jesus was beaten and crucified for me; shouldn’t I be serious too? His love for me is intense, shouldn’t I love Him intensely as well?
The Word is alive and blesses us with what we need to see and hear. Just yesterday I thought “I am going to where God is” because I want to stay with Him. Today, I thought, I am coming back to You God. We can move far from God and His Word in an instant, can’t we?
Are you thankful you can come back to the Father?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your Son Jesus Christ and for Your Word. Jesus is the Word of life and I find life in You. Thank You LORD for welcoming me back after I turn away. Forgive me for my attitude of indifference. I am choosing to come back to You now. I need Your help Almighty Father to stay with You. Thank You for the gifts of others who help me see You. Help me to share, LORD, what I see and hear with You. Amen
