Share the post "Dear LORD, I lack wisdom, so I am asking You for it and I am thankful you promise to give it liberally."
Today’s Scripture: James 1:5, NKJV- “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
Sometimes we just do not know what to do. Some people are more decisive than others. I am one of the less decisive of people. I see different sides and as a recovering people pleaser, I can struggle to make clear cut decisions. At times, I lack wisdom and confidence in my decisions.
Here in James 1, we find we can get all the wisdom we need if we just ask God for it. The One we should desire to please is generous and liberal with His giving us the wisdom we ask for. At work, play, and relationships with others we can ask God for wisdom and expect Him to answer.
James 1:6 holds the key, “But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.” (NLT). Expect with not doubt nor wavering. Those words used to scare me. I am growing out of my indecisiveness. Yes, there is growth, patience, and perseverance as God’s Word here in James 1 promises.
The more mornings I have spent on my knees with God the more confidence I have gotten in His voice. The more I have experienced His wisdom the more confident in Him I am becoming.
1. What do you need wisdom for today?
2. Do you have a story of when you asked God and He provided?
3. Can you be bold today and be unwavering in the wisdom you are receiving from God?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, I lack wisdom and I am asking You for Wisdom now. Thank You LORD for Your generosity and liberal giving of the wisdom we ask for. Grant me boldness, confidence, and faith in expecting to clearly receive and know the wisdom You are providing. I am trusting You LORD and acting on the wisdom You are providing. Please grant me Your perseverance and endurance so that I receive Your crown of life. I love You LORD. Amen.
