Today’s Scripture: Galatians 5:1, NLT- “So Christ has truly set us free. Now make sure that you stay free, and don’t get tied up again in slavery to the law.”
Jesus Christ has set us free. Paul told us to make sure that we stay free, and not get tied up again in slavery to the law. We fail the enslavement of the law and find freedom in the love of Jesus Christ.
Paul shares that true freedom is found in the Spirit. Jesus came to usher in the Spirit of God that we humans lost in trying to understand and enforce The Law. We have been set free to love. Not free to indulge the flesh, free to love and serve others.
Galatians 5:14 states that all the other laws can be summed up into one; “Love your neighbor as yourself.” We can only choose love if we are living in the Spirit of love. The Spirit and flesh battle daily but Christ has freed us to choose the Spirit.
Will you exercise your spiritual freedom today and love?
Today’s Prayer: Our Father who art in heaven, thank You for sending Jesus Christ to us to teach us love. Help us to welcome Your Spirit of love. Overwhelm my mind and understanding with Your Spirit and love. Thank You God for calling us into freedom. Please overwhelm my desires of the flesh with my presence with Your Spirit. Help me to choose to live in Your Spirit of love at all times. Amen
