Today’s Scripture: Psalm 118:28: You are my God, and I will give you thanks; you are my God, and I will exalt you. (NIV)
Today we can begin and end our day as David does in Psalm 118, with thanksgiving. Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; for his steadfast love endures forever! (ESV) Let us remember that the LORD’s love endures forever. The LORD’s love not only endures forever but it endures in all things.
In 118:5 David states Out of my distress I called on the LORD; the LORD answered me and set me free.(ESV) No matter the distress we face we can call out to the LORD and He will answer us and set us free. For that I am thankful.
In verse six we are told: The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? (ESV) Again, in verse seven we are told the LORD is our helper. Aren’t you thankful that no matter what the world or man throws at us the LORD is on our side? It is not always easy as we too can find that we are surrounded on all sides and we will get pushed to our limits but as David shares in verse 13 we can state confidently “I was pushed hard, so that I was falling, but the LORD helped me.” (ESV) In verse 24 we are reminded This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. (ESV) Yes, this is the LORD’s day, rejoice knowing He is our God and our helper!
Today’s Prayer: Mighty God, thank you for being my God. Thank you LORD for being my helper and for making Your light shine on me. Thank you LORD for hearing and answering my prayers. This is the day You have made and I will rejoice and be glad in it. I give thanks to You dear LORD and I will exalt Your name. Amen

Amen! Good word for today.
Thanks Dustin! I will look forward to following the Abraham Chronicles as well. I see we are both UGA grads. I am just a ton older with children much older. Thanks for stopping by!
Man, I wish I had seen this one earlier today! Now it is evening and all the fun has gone…
Good stuff, Tom. You like the ESV, huh?
Thanks Donald, sorry I have been a little late this week as I am on a revised schedule this week. Will get back to the early schedule next week. Thanks for you for stopping by. You know, I usually go to NKJ version but as Bill and others suggested they liked ESV last week I thought I would try. Of course I go to Biblos daily and reveiw several translations and really enjoy that. Today just seemed to be an esv kind of day!
I love Biblos! All those translations right at my fingertips! Very nice.
I have thought about checking out the ESV, specifically. It seems to be making an impact. Many of the folks I follow online use it.
You did it again–brought out a part of the scripture I’d never noticed….”so that I was falling.” That spoke to me.
Thanks Julie! I too am amazed when looking at these scriptures how God can reveal things fresh that touches us. I had never recalled that statement before either and felt great knowing He will catch us and strengthen us. I am praying for you today and pray your writing is going well!
