Today’s Scripture: Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. 1 John 4:7 ESV
1 John 4:11 (ESV) states: “Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” At times the only love we have is from God isn’t it?
In Martin Luther King Jr’s 1967address to an anti-war group he stated: “When I speak of love I am not speaking of some sentimental and weak response. I am speaking of that force which all of the great religions have seen as the supreme unifying principal of life. “Let us love one another; for love is God and everyone that loveth is born of God and knoweth God.”
1 John 4:8 tells us “God is love.” Sometimes the only love I have is from God. My fleshly feelings do not tag along; they desire to flee even the boundaries of like. But from God, from His force of love, I have love to give.
Will you give God’s love as He has given it to you?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, You are love. Thank You for giving us Your love. LORD help me to give the love You have given me. Forgive me for when I do not show Your love or do not feel love. I know Your love and Your Spirit reside in me and I pray to let it flow from me in spite of me. Amen
