Affirmation of God: My Father keeps His promises.

Today’s Scripture: Now he is exalted to the place of highest honor in heaven, at God’s right hand. And the Father, as he had promised, gave him the Holy Spirit to pour out upon us, just as you see and hear today. Acts 2:33 NLT 

Count on it, God the Father keeps His promises. We are am impatient people but rest assured He has proven over and over through His word and through His power to be faithful. I fail to grasp all of His promises but His word and our lives are full of miracles. 

Luke 24:49 NLT was the first place the Spirit made me keenly aware of His promises today where Luke wrote: “And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with power from heaven.” What I hadn’t noticed before is in Acts 2:1 in the version of the NLT I am reading says the day of Pentecost was SEVEN WEEKS after Jesus’ resurrection. God’s Word translation says 50^th day. 

As Peter spoke to those who were meeting DAILY to pray, this must have seemed like a long time yet he is sharing words that Joel and King David shared HUNDREDS of years before. Let’s hang on to His promises. If it hasn’t happened yet for you trust because like Peter says in 1:3 Jesus has proven in many ways that He is actually alive. He is alive and proves it through His word and His Holy Spirit. I will ask you what Peter asked 2000 years ago, “ Brothers, what should we do?” 

Today’s Prayer: Father God thank You for Your promises to us. You have proven Yourself to me over and over. I am thankful that You allow me to experience Your wonderful joy. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit who speaks. Lord You know my heart, use me where I belong. I know it is Your Holy Spirit that gives me the ability to speak in a language that is understood. I praise You. Amen
