Today’s Scripture: And his name–by faith in his name–has made this man strong whom you see and know, and the faith that is through Jesus has given the man this perfect health in the presence of you all. Acts 3:15 ESV
The story of the lame man at the gate called Beautiful in Acts 3 shows the power that lies in faith in Jesus. Since birth this man had been lame and he was placed at the temple gate to ask for donations. Peter and John did not have money but they offered to give to him what they did have. What did they have? They had faith in Jesus.
Interesting isn’t it that it was NOT the faith of the man healed but the faith of Peter and John who immediately strengthened his feet and ankles. They had this faith and offered it to this man. He was so thankful for their gift of faith that he entered the temple with them; walking, leaping and praising God.
Faith in Jesus is our strength and the strength for others who don’t even know Jesus yet. If we give what we have, faith, then they too may leap for joy. Those that witnessed this healing were filled with wonder and amazement. The power and the strength of Jesus are just as powerful today. Faith in Jesus is our strength and strength for those placed in our path today. May we give what we have.
Today’s Prayer: Jesus You are my strength. Faith in you is power and strength. Your strength Jesus will heal my lameness and the lameness of others as I offer Your faith. LORD You are all I have to offer. Your strength and power is amazing and life changing. Like the former lame man I too leap for joy and praise You. Strengthen my faith LORD and help me to give it away. Amen

Christian Affirmations 4 Life
Wonderful post, Tom. The message at my church was about this very thing yesterday. It was about the friends who brought the man to Jesus and found they couldn’t get in because of the mass of people. They didn’t let that obstacle stop them from doing what they came to do. They lowered him down through the roof. It’s wonderful when friends are there for us and lead us in life changing directions..and when we can’t walk, they carry us! They faith makes us strong.
Thank you Meg, faith is incredibly powerful even when we ourselves are weak! Thanks for sharing your lesson from yesterday!!
Great reminder today, Tom. So often we look at faith as a weak, recessionary mindset. Instead, I want to look at my faith as a source of power and strength. Thanks!
Amen Dustin, faith is our source for power and strength!! The evil one would like to convince the world that faith is weak…we know better and we know he is scared to death of the power and strength in faith in Jesus!!

Tom,
I’ll be using Acts 3:1-10 as my basis for the Everyday Testimony posting, which will be done on Tuesday 1 March 2011.
It will tie-in with your post here.

Jay, thanks for checking in! I appreciate you stopping by and participating!
How affirming to know that we do have something to offer, even we may not have wealth of materials things. May I share my faith today and each day, as you have inspired us to do.
Thanks Sheryl! You have helped me to realize that power is in our faith and not in what we have or do! Have a blessed day!
