This affirmation is a direct quote from David in Psalm 9:1 “…I WILL praise You, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works.”And what was the result of David’s praise and telling every one of the marvelous works of the LORD?
David found gladness and joy. Today’s affirmation from Psalm 9 shows us the way to be glad and to be able to rejoice today. Even if our circumstances are not cause for gladness and joy we can still find them by praising God and telling others of the great things He has done.
David was writing this during a time of turmoil and attack from his enemies. We too may be being attacked today on several fronts. However, the promise here is no matter where we are today, no matter whom or what is attacking us, the Lord will reign supreme and we can count on His power. If we want to have gladness and joy today we just need to praise the LORD.
Today’s Prayer:
LORD, I praise you with my whole heart and sing praises to Your name O LORD. You are the King that will reign forever. I find my gladness and my joy in You. I thank You for Your promise that our enemies, those things that attack us, will perish in Your presence. Have mercy on me O LORD and I praise You and thank You for saving me. In You I rejoice.
Amen

I will give You all my worship-
I will give You all my praise-
You alone, I long to worship-
You alone are worthy of our praise!
Oh yeah. I reckon this song would have more of an impact if I sang it while dancing naked in front of a church congregation, but….I ain’t ready for all that just yet. LOL!
Good stuff, Tom.

By the way, the “naked reference” was pertaining to David in front of The Ark. I normally don’t just randomly comment about dancing naked in front of a bunch of Christians. At least, not that often. LOL!

I love how you see that one word in the scripture–and the whole thing comes to life. Great point, Tom. Thank you!
