Today’s Scripture: Romans 10:9 ESV: because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
I have a confession to make. That comment always gains a listener’s attention doesn’t it? I must confess to you that Jesus is Lord. Why? Because the Word shows us here in Romans 10:9 that if we confess with our mouths and believe in our hearts that God raised Jesus from the dead we will be saved.
Don’t you want to be saved? Don’t you want to share your good news with everyone? A confession tends to open the door of the heart to both the one confessing and the one listening. This door that is opened reveals God’s power and His riches.
How do I know Jesus is Lord? I have heard God. How you may ask did I hear Him? Just as it states in Romans 10:17 that faith comes from hearing and hearing comes from the word of Christ. I hear God. Where? In His word.
His word calls us to confess Jesus as Lord, do you?
Today’s Prayer: LORD God, thank You for Your Word. I trust You to bring Your word to those who You intend. May my confession reveal Your power. My life depends on You LORD and I pray my life serves Your purpose. May the confession of my mouth be heard by You and the one who you intend. Amen
