Today’s Scripture: You were dead because of your sins and because your sinful nature was not yet cut away. Then God made you alive with Christ, for he forgave all our sins. Colossians 2:13 New Living Translation
Are you feeling alive today? The weight of the world seems at times to be a burden but Paul reminds us here in Colossians 2 that God has made us alive in Christ. It is not just the world that weighs on us but at times our sins and the false teachings of man.
“Do not handle, Do not taste, Do not touch” Colossians 2:21 ESV I don’t recall this verse before but Paul is very clear as he warns us against man made regulations. It is God who gives us life through Christ. In Christ alone do we find life and justification. We will hold tightly to God and in Him is where we find growth and life.
God is our only hope as laid out in verse 23 to stop us from the indulgence of our flesh. Not only does God protect us but, in Christ, He completes us and fills us. Christ builds us up and overflows us with thanksgiving as Paul promises in verse 7. Firmly rooted, built up and thankful: ALIVE. Do you find your life in Him?
Today’s Prayer: Mighty God, thank You for raising me up with Christ. Thank You for nailing my sins to that rugged cross. In Christ you have given me life in the full. Thank you for Your gift to me. I am alive as You raise me up and continue to grow me as You intend for me to grow. I hold tightly to You Father God and put my faith in You. Amen
