Today’s Scripture: Romans 8:15, NKJV- “For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
Can you call God the Father, Daddy? The comfort you sense in your spirit is His Spirit. We are told so in Romans 8. This Spirit of adoption has been given to us. The Holy Spirit of God testifies to our spirit that we are children of God as promised in Romans 8:16.
“And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.” Romans 8:17 (NLT). There are responsibilities that come with being God’s child.
Jesus suffered for us so we too should suffer for others. We can sacrifice so others too can be heirs of God’s glory. We are promised that these sufferings do not compare to the glory we will receive. Romans 8:19 says that the Creation is waiting for the children of God to be revealed.
Will you be the child of God today the world is waiting on?
Today’s Prayer: Abba, Father, Daddy, thank You for adopting me. I have received Your Spirit of adoption. I am praying now to live as Jesus did as Your heir. Use me LORD for Your glory as You used the sufferings of Christ to save me. Help me to invite others to be adopted by You so we can all be Your children this world is waiting on for salvation. Help me to share the hope, freedom, and glory of being Your child. Amen
