Today’s Scripture: All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth. Hebrews 11:13 NIV
Are you living for something far beyond today’s circumstances? In Hebrews 11 Paul begins by defining faith for us; “Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.” (NLT) Do you live confidently in what you hope for and find assurance in what you can not see?
Our affirmation today is found in Hebrews 11:13 reminding us that these people we read about in the bible lived by faith but did not receive their greatest rewards here on earth. Can we live today by faith and not for rewards or immediate gratification but in the assurance of a greater good?
The unseen Spirit of God is at work and we will be fed and led by Him today for the good of God’s people. May your confidence and faith help lead others to know God.
Are you confident in the promises of God over the immediate results you can see?
Today’s Prayer: Heavenly Father, Creator God I believe in You and Your promises. Thank you for the Word and those who had faith in You and lived for You that left an example for us here on earth. Their stories live for thousands of years after their earthly deaths and I pray too that we also leave a legacy of hope and faith to those who follow us. Amen
