Today’s Scripture: Ezra 7:15 NLT Tyndale: We also commission you to take with you some silver and gold which we are freely presenting as an offering to the God of Israel who lives in Jerusalem.
God lives here. King Artaxerxes of Persia wrote a decree that gave Ezra and all the people of God anything they needed to give to their God “who lives in Jerusalem.”
Do we really understand where God lives? Does He only live in what is good and perfect and all shiny in the temple? I think not, He even showed Himself through this King, who was not an Israelite, giving Him the desire to offer this decree that would bless God’s people over thousands of years to be right with God.
Ezra knew God was there and praised Him for making the king want to help. Ezra praised God; for it was God who brought him honor before the king.
God is here with us now. He will present us and provide for us those who will help us bring Him glory. Do you trust God to live right where you are?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, I know You are here. Thank You for Your presence and Your unfailing love for us. I know You can use anyone to complete Your will. Dear God please grant me the wisdom and determination to study and obey Your law so I may teach this to others. I must teach them. I praise You LORD for placing Your gracious hand on me. I pray that you will take care of me and bring to me those You intend to complete Your Will. Thank You for being here. Amen.
