Today’s Scripture: Galatians 3:11, NKJV- “But that no one is justified by the law in the sight of God is evident, for “the just shall live by faith.”
Do you live by faith, or do you think you need more time to figure this God thing out?
Paul made the point in Galatians 3:17 that God made His promises to Abraham 430 years before Moses delivered the laws. It was another 1,500 years later when Paul was reminding the people of Galatia in Galatians 3:6 that Abraham “believed God”. Do we?
Now, another 2,000 years later we must continue to contemplate Paul’s question in Galatians 3:2, “I would like to learn just one thing from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by believing what you heard?” (NIV)
Galatians 3:14 promises us “that the blessing of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.” (NKJV) It is still through faith that we receive God’s promise and His Spirit. We must believe and have faith that we have received the Spirit of God through Jesus Christ just as Jesus himself promised us in John chapters 14-16.
We are not called to believe IN God, but to believe Him. As Paul told us in Galatians 3:29, “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” (NIV). We belong to Jesus through our belief and faith in what He has done for us.
We do not need more time we must only spend our time living by faith. In faith we live.
Today’s Prayer: Abba, Father thank You for Your promises to us. I believe You God that I am an heir to Your promise to Abraham through Jesus Christ. Your promises stand forever. Thank You Father God for adopting me as Your child. I do believe You and I do place all my faith in You. I am asking Your Spirit to help me live by faith every day. In the name of Jesus Christ who hung on that tree for me, I do pray. Amen.
