Today’s Scripture: Deuteronomy 33:29, NLT- “How blessed you are, O Israel! Who else is like you, a people saved by the LORD? He is your protecting shield and your triumphant sword! Your enemies will cringe before you, and you will stomp on their backs!”
God’s Word removes the question mark with exclamation. God’s Word is amazing and how He gets us to the right words at the right time is unimaginable. Scrolling through Facebook Reels this morning I caught a couple of reels of Jentezen Franklin on TBN.
I am not sure if I have ever watched a reel from TBN before, but I do watch Mr. Franklin from time to time. This morning, he was mentioning three points that always help him. I remember that number one was remembering that Jesus is with me. In number two Jentezen mentioned that in Deuteronomy 33 we are told that the arms of God are underneath us, or something like that.
Out of curiosity or a spiritual nudge, I went to Deuteronomy 33 in my affirmation spreadsheet to see what I may have captured over the past fifteen years. To my amazement and excitement, I realized I had ZERO recorded affirmations from Deuteronomy 33. At first, I thought this must be some kind of mistake since, in my mind, I have gone through all the scriptures multiple times. Today I am wondering if I simply did not record any personal affirmations from this chapter because I perceived, at the time, that these were Moses’ final blessings to the tribes of Israel and were not my blessings.
However, reading Deuteronomy 33:2 “And he said: “The LORD came from Sinai” The first “affirmation” that spoke to me was “The LORD comes to us.” To make it more personal, I also recorded “The LORD comes to me.” Suddenly, I did not feel as if I was stealing the blessings of the twelve tribes, but I was in fact receiving these promises of Moses as my very own.
Deuteronomy 33:1 tells us, in part, “Now this is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.” (NKJV) One of the first affirmations I captured from this verse was “I bless others with the blessings of God.” So, that is what I have decided to do.
Hopefully, you will see this as a blessing and not a curse, but I have decided to post all the affirmations that I captured this morning from this one chapter. Please know that my goal is NOT only to provide affirmations, or whatever these things are. My mission and purpose are to encourage you to read the scriptures, find, and record what God’s Word is saying to you.
