LORD, please help us live a life worthy of the calling You have given us.

Today’s Scripture: Ephesians 4:1, NIV- “As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.”

Paul reminds us that we have already received our calling, and he urged us to live a life worthy of it. To live a life, we must live today worthy. In Ephesians 3:20, we are encouraged that God can do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine. We can trust God for and in our calling.

I found myself wondering in my quiet time with God this morning about what I needed to do today towards my calling. Thank You Paul for reminding me to simply ask God. Ephesians 4:6 reminds us that we have been called by the one true God and Father of all, over all, through all, and in all. You LORD, placed the sun, moon, and stars in the sky and we know You can oversee anything hanging in the balance of our lives today.

God, You are in me and in those who I can help and in those who can help me. I am asking You now to help me live and do the things You know are worthy. I do not know what to ask or imagine but You do. I will not waste another minute trying to figure out my next move. I am asking for Your help Father God to live worthy and bravely.

Thank You LORD for the grace You have given us through Jesus Christ as we are promised in Ephesians 4:7. Thank You Jesus for the gifts You have given to us. You have filled the universe with Your ways and callings. You have equipped each of us to serve You and build up Your body. We need Your help LORD to mature into our full measure.

You LORD determine what is worthy. Help us to speak the truth in love and help us grow in every way to me more like Christ as we are called in Ephesians 4:15. Please bring us together with those You know will support and grow Your body.

LORD help us to live in Your Spirit and stay far away from the futility of our thinking.  Please continue to teach us Your ways. Renew our thoughts and attitudes with Your Holy Spirit. Help us put on our new selves to be more like You in righteousness and holiness. Only You LORD can help us live this life to be worthy.

We are all a part of God’s body. Thank You LORD for protecting us from evil and our own frailties. Show us today what we can do that is useful to share with others. Show us Father God and help us build others up in Your grace.

Holy Spirit we are seeking Your guidance now. Help us to live out our calling of Ephesians 4:32, to “Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. (ESV) This is a calling for each of us and we can fulfill it today.

LORD, grant us the confidence and boldness to live in Your worthiness. In You alone LORD we are worthy. Will you ask the LORD to help you with your calling today?

Today’s Prayer:  Almighty God, thank You for calling us into Your body. You are the One true God. Help us to live the fullness of our maturity in our Lord Jesus Christ. Help us, LORD, to humbly love all others and be a part of lifting them and encouraging them to live their part of Your body. Help us LORD to live a life worthy of Your calling today so we help others live the life You have called them to. We also ask now that You bring those You desire to us, so we live a life worthy of You. In the name and grace of Jesus Christ we do pray. Amen.
