Today’s Scripture: 2 Corinthians 12:10 NLT: That’s why I take pleasure in my weaknesses and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
I will boast only of my weaknesses. Although these were Paul’s words in 2 Corinthians 12:5 they too are mine.
Although I did not suffer these things for Christ, Christ has used His power to turn my weaknesses to strengths. I boast that alcoholism finally took me to my knees. It was there, on my knees, that I came face to face with my weaknesses and the strengths of God.
Confessing our weaknesses keeps us from being proud. I believe we all have thorns in the flesh. Just as with Paul, the Lord’s grace is all we need, and His power works best in our weaknesses. We are humbled by God and we are strengthened in Him.
Can you see how God’s power has shown up in your weaknesses?
Today’s Prayer: Mighty God, You are all powerful and I thank You for giving me Your power through Jesus Christ. I thank you for my weaknesses that I am aware of and for those that will continue to humble me before You. In my weaknesses and in my poverty please show Yourself to be real and all the strength I need. Please use my weaknesses to make others strong. Amen
