Today’s Scripture: Philippians 1:7, NIV- “It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me.”
Hold on a second. Stop. Sometimes we must be reminded to pause to take in God’s wonder. You and I share in something so powerful, so personal, so amazing, and yet, we can take God’s grace and the presence of Jesus for granted.
Have you ever met in private, when nobody else is present or looking, just you and Jesus? If you are like me, you may have thought, wait a second, this is THE Jesus and He is with me?
Thank You Lord Jesus, let us never forget You and Your grace. Fill our hearts, souls, and minds Lord Jesus with how we may share this awe with others. We too can know “the affection of Christ Jesus” that Paul references in Philippians 1:8.
Mere words cannot describe this moment, yet Paul’s words in Philippians 1:9 stating, “And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment,” (NKJV) make sense. I am praying right now that you and I experience God’s abounding love that grows more and more so we may experience and share Jesus, so others too know Him and discern His presence.
You and I can come to know and accept what Paul came to realize and wrote of in Philippians 1:12, “And I want you to know, my dear brothers and sisters, that everything that has happened to me here has helped to spread the Good News.” (NLT) You and I have experiences with Jesus and the hardships of life.
All our experiences work out to help spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Seriously, if a sinner such as me, can experience the presence of Jesus, I can guarantee you and others that when we are committed to meeting with Jesus, He is faithful to meet with us. What else in this world could be more important or awe-inspiring than the Savior of the World visiting with us in our personal space.
The life we are living will give hope to others lost in the hopelessness that can occur in the human experience. But hold on a second, Jesus is coming. I am not speaking of some unknown distant event of the return of Jesus Christ, I am speaking of now.
When we pause to seek and welcome Jesus, He is faithful to be present and we can grow to recognize Him more and more. As Paul shared in Philippians 1:25, we experience these things, so we all continue to grow and experience the joy of our faith.
Do you share in God’s grace and joy?
Today’s Prayer: Thank You Jesus for being with us. Thank You Lord for Your presence and grace. I am praying Christ Jesus to share You with all others so they too may know You and grow in faith and joy. LORD, please use our experiences, both harmonious and hard, to further the cause of the gospel of Jesus Christ so we welcome more and more believers into the kingdom of God, our Father. In the name of a very present Jesus Christ, we do pray. Amen.
