Today’s Affirmation: I am alive with a new heart and a new spirit.
I pray for the Holy Spirit to guide these affirmations and open my eyes to the ones to be shared. Not hocus pocus but which words of God stand out to my heart. Today is a perfect example of how much I am not God and He is.
As I prayed over the list of affirmations that have been harvested I found where God spoke his word and it came to pass. Wam, there you go, an affirmation in a nutshell: “The words I speak come to pass.” They really do but that is a story for another day.
God gave the words to Ezekiel to speak with the children of Israel to change their ways and what they had to do to LIVE. In Ezekiel 18: 31 God says to cast away all of our transgressions and get ourselves a new heart and a new spirit.
For those who grew up with the image of a mean and vengeful God it is refreshing to see here that He says He has NO pleasure in the death of those in sin. He wants us to have a new heart and a new spirit.
It feels GREAT to be alive. Really alive. An aliveness like one never experienced before. O yes, there has been fun and enjoyable times with some of those of my own creation that ended a distant memory from “fun”. This isn’t a physical bodily aliveness but one that comes with a new heart and a new spirit.
I DO NOT understand it, CAN NOT explain it, just know that it IS. If you don’t FEEL it that is perfectly OK. But ask God as you understand Him to be today to give you a new heart and a new spirit in Him and see where that takes you.
Put your seatbelt on because as you seek Him every day you will see, hear and experience things you once thought were hocus pocus. Yes, it’s great to be alive. Just claim God’s promise today and tell your yourself: I am ALIVE with a new heart and a new spirit.
Thank you God!
Have you ever felt like you are alive with a new heart and a new spirit?
Do you struggle to ever get there and feel this?
Does talk like this make you angry today?
Let me know if you have any thoughts or feelings on this.
Alive,
Tom Raines
Tom: I affirm today that I am alive with every fiber of my being. I didn’t grow up with a vengeful God. IN fact, I am not really sure what kind of God I did grow up. He was not/is not conditional in His love like my own father was. But as I have grown in Him I have to rely more and more that I can’t put a box around Him. He is all and all I need. Offended? No. Encouraged? Yes!
Thanks Bill, every fiber indeed. Have a filled day!
“Ask God ….. to give you a new heart and a new spirit in Him and see where that takes you.”
Tom, this statement is in keeping with the basic tenets of science; observation and experimentation. It’s such a shame that the agnostic and atheistic people in the scientific community won’t exercise their own code and experience the indescribable joys of a walk with God. As you so aptly put it, it is something “I DO NOT understand it, CAN NOT explain it, just know that it IS.”
Blessings!
John
Thanks John. I appreciate your knowledge and wisdom. Glad you can deal with the intelligencia community. I will have to stay here and stick with the I Don’t understand. Of course, when I think of those who can’t find God because the lean on their on understanding….”careful what you lean on”…
I grew up with an annoyed God…kinda smirking over my head all the time…I’ve learned to see Him differently over the years.
My heart raced a little when I read:
“Put your seat belt on…”
I anxiously await …
Great thoughts Tom…
Thank you Robin. Thank God we mature in our view of God. The more we know Him the more we learn He isn’t like who we thought he was…there is a lesson in there. Thanks so much for your encouragement!!
