Today’s Affirmation: Dreams coming true are pleasant to my soul.
Dreams and Goals realized and achieved can be so sweet. To realize and achieve something you must at first desire it, right? Today’s affirmation comes from Proverbs 13:19. The New Living Translation says: “It is pleasant to see dreams come true, but fools will not turn from evil to attain them.” KJV says: “The desire accomplished is sweet to the soul: but [it is] abomination to fools to depart from evil.
Many stories of scripture had God revealing Himself to the great prophets in dreams and visions. He spoke to them, guided them, instructed them and showed them the way. This same God is alive and well today. So what are your dreams? Has he spoken with you? Do you take time to ask God for the dreams He has for you? Do you love to see the dreams of others come true?
Or, are we just too busy these days to dream. Has the king of this world kept us so busy with his dreams and the wants of the world to distract us from our true desires? Do we still desire what is good? I just love to see, read and hear about how the dreams of others come true. It encourages me to dream.
Mark 10:51 has haunted me since I heard this a year or so ago. The blind man cried out and Jesus said “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man knew the answer and said, “Rabbi, I want to see.”
I froze in a panic, what if Jesus asked me that. What is it that I want Him to do for me? What do I desire? Do I even know what I want? Is what I desire something pleasant to Him? Is this dream or goal in line with His kingdom, His will?
My first shout to the Lord is one of Praise! I praise you Father God, please give me YOUR desire for my heart. I pray for clarity and I know now what I would say if Jesus asked me that today, do you?
1. Do you have a dream? Do you feel this dream is from the Lord or the world? Would you feel good telling Jesus this desire?
2. What is your response to Jesus’ question? What do you want Him to do for you?
3. Will we turn from the demands of the world today to take time to seek God and His dreams for us? Can you set up an appointment and time to meet God and ask Him for His dreams for you?
4. As you dream, can you encourage others to dream? Can you find pleasure in the goals and dreams of others?
Dear Lord, give us a dream today, your vision for us. Jesus, I am so ready for you to ask.
