Today’s Scripture: Proverbs 23:7 KJV: For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.
On the surface Proverbs 23:7 warns us not to eat the food of a stingy person or crave what he is offering. Although the miser is offering you his food, his heart is not with you. The KJV, in particular, makes a KEY distinction of “heart thinking”.
The words THINKETH IN OUR HEARTS require introspection. Can we “understand” thinking in our hearts? Can we grasp this or do we over “think”?
Could the larger point be that we can NOT think our way into our hearts. BUT we CAN learn to think and live FROM our hearts. When we experience the Holy Spirit in us we come to accept He can be the heart of our thoughts and the heart of who we are.
The Holy Spirit reveals a supernatural knowledge and identity in our hearts.
Are you willing to think in your heart to find who you truly are?
Today’s Prayer: O Heavenly Father thank You for Your Spirit You have placed in my heart. Help me LORD to think within my heart; to learn from Your Holy Spirit and to become who You desire I am to be. Forgive me Father when I trust my fleshly thoughts over the thoughts You have placed in my heart. Help me LORD to think and live from Your heart. Amen
