Today’s Scripture: 2 Kings 6:17, NIV- And Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes, LORD, so that he may see.” Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
Elisha was an amazing man of God. He had the vision of God. He had the power of God. In this passage Elisha’s servant was like us. He went out early in the morning and saw that they were surrounded by the enemy.
When he said “Oh no, my lord! What shall we do?” Elisha said, “Don’t be afraid those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” Then the LORD opened up the servant’s eyes so he saw God’s mighty army all around.
Lord, thank You for opening up my eyes. Thank You for Your light and for Your mighty armies and angels. I am doing what You, my Lord, have called me to do today and trusting in Your power and might over mine. Grant us the confidence and belief that Your powers are greater than the powers that surround us.
Will you trust that God’s army is all around you today?
Today’s Prayer: Father God, thank You for Your servants that teach us and help open our eyes. Thank You for the example of Elisha. May we too be of You as He was. Open up our eyes LORD so we may see. Fill us with fearlessness to know that greater who is around us and in us is greater than is in this world. Evil appears to surround us yet we can look to the hills full of Your power and help. I trust in You and Your promises God. Thank You for opening my eyes so I may see You. Amen
