Today’s Scripture: Galatians 2:20, NIV- “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
For many years Galatians 2:20 was my life verse. I claimed this verse while I was still a practicing alcoholic. I knew I was the problem and that I had to crucify myself to receive the fullness of Christ. I can still live a hypocritical life that Paul warns about when I try to live by my understanding instead of faith.
When I gave up and accepted that I was powerless over my addictions and compulsive behaviors it was then I accepted that Christ lives in me. The life I am now living in my body I am living in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Our minds and nature still try to grapple for control from time to time yet when we turn pray and trust the Christ, we find calm and peace. When we crucify our flesh and live by faith in the Son of God we stop fretting and fighting. Lord, I am trusting in Your ways. Please open or close this door as You know the plans You have for me. Christ live in me.
I trust faith in Christ over my understanding of the law or the nature of humanity. I have faith in the Spirit of Christ. As Galatians 3:9 states we must rely on faith. Galatians 3:14 promises that by faith we receive the promise of the Spirit. Galatians 3:18 states that we must rely on God’s promises and not our understanding of the law. God promised His Spirit through Christ Jesus.
Christ came to earth so we could be justified by faith. Christ was crucified so His Spirit would live in us. When we are crucified to the things of this world the Spirit of Christ lives in us. Will you live by faith that Christ is in you?
Today’s Prayer: Lord Jesus, live in me. Crucify anything in me that is not of You. Help me to live by faith in You. Thank you for dying for my sins Lord Jesus. Please remove all things that may separate me from You. I thank You for living in me. Thank You Jesus for making me a child of God through faith. Strengthen my faith, LORD. I am praying now to live in faith that You live in me. Amen.
